Focus Lesson. Lesson 5: Flashback

1.) The flashback adds the tension of adding it in an important moment of the passage to add intensity to it, leaving the reader wondering what will happen next.

2.) We learn from the flashback that Bonnie and Cornelia have been friends since the sixth grade, Bonnie wants Cornelia to get out of her shell, and Bonnie is the more outgoing/adventurous one.

3.) A description wouldn't be as nearly effective as a flashback would be b/c it wouldn't provide a good enough example Bonnie's influence and Cornelia’s past behavior.
